Joseph Adibleku (Joblek)
Joseph Adibleku (Joblek) (b. 1985) is a contemporary Ghanaian artist. He enrolled at the Ankle College of Art and Design in early 2000 and graduated with a degree in Art. His works are focused around the black skin, big eyes and red lips. This is in order to appreciate where he is coming from as an artist as it gives him the sense of origin to his roots. Working within this framework helps to capture the people and to complement the environment he lives in with his rich cultural background. Adibleku explores the relationship of abstraction through simplifying shapes of clothing and through clear sharp lines. He creates images through his own space and has participated in several exhibitions across Europe and Ghana.
