Antoine de Padoue is a Rwandan based impasto painter, graduating in Sculpture and Ceramics and exhibiting across Rwanda and the USA. Antoine de Padoue is passionate about exploring the ways in which Art is part of our life. His Art depicts situations of social life, emotions and feelings. ‘We can’t live without colours, these colours and images help me tell the many stories I hear, see, live, and sometimes just imagined.’ Art allows him to create an escape from the reality that we face every day. Antoine de Padoue takes inspiration from the Impressionists and their heavy strokes, the flow of their textured, torn, foundry colours, and different grayscales. It is their engagement in open compositions and light changing depiction, that motivated his impasto style.
